This cacao is sourced from Cacao Barry’s Plein Arôme 22–24% cocoa powder, part of the Callebaut Cocoa Horizons initiative - ensuring ethical, traceable, and sustainable farming practices that support cacao-growing communities with fair compensation and training.

While it is not certified organic, it is responsibly grown and delivers exceptional aroma, quality, and flavour.

Vegan, diabetic-friendly, low-GI, keto and banting friendly with no added sugar and no artificial sweetener. Simply add your favourite sweeteners, like honey, coconut sugar or agave syrup.

How to Prepare Healthy Hot Chocolate

Letitia’s favorite preparation is simple and heartwarming:

  • 1 flat tsp of cacao powder

  • 1 tsp honey (or natural sweetener)

  • Hot water and/or plant milk

You can enjoy this in two ways:

  • Use mostly hot water with a splash of milk for a lighter, more traditional hot chocolate

  • Or prepare it with just hot plant milk (like oat or almond) for a velvety, nourishing cacao elixir

Optional: Add a pinch of cinnamon, vanilla or cayenne pepper for extra flavour.

Use It For:

  • Daily cacao drinks (a healthy hot chocolate alternative)

  • Smoothies and shakes

  • Baking or dessert recipes

  • Morning oats, cereals, or porridge

With its deep, full-bodied flavor and subtle bitter notes, this cacao invites you to slow down, stay connected, and make every cup sacred.

Size:

150g pouch (resealable for freshness)

Makes approximately 25–30 servings

FAQ

What is the difference between cacao and cocoa?

Both terms refer to products made from the cacao bean, but the difference lies in processing:

  • Cacao usually refers to less-processed, raw or minimally heated versions, retaining more nutrients like magnesium and antioxidants.

  • Cocoa (like this one) is often roasted at a higher temperature, which gives it a richer flavor but slightly reduces the nutritional profile.

This Cacao is made by pressing cacao nibs to extract the cacao butter, and then grinding the remaining solids into a fine powder. The result is a beautifully rich cocoa powder that’s perfect as a healthy hot chocolate and for everyday use.

What does “ceremonial-grade cacao" mean?

Ceremonial cacao is intentionally prepared to preserve the full fat (butter) and energetic properties of the bean. It is used in ritual, meditation, and emotional healing work.

If you’re looking for ceremonial-grade cacao, you can explore our Bali-origin ceremonial cacao here.

What does “sustainably sourced cacao” mean?

Sustainability goes beyond the soil - it’s about supporting farmers, their communities, and the planet.

This healthy hot chocolate is part of the Callebaut Cocoa Horizons program, which supports cacao farmers with training, tools, and fair compensation while promoting environmentally responsible farming.

This ensures that each pouch of cacao supports a regenerative supply chain that uplifts communities and honors the earth.
